Lets talk about OAK TONES

Oak is a commonly used wood thanks to its strength and versatility also due to a particular major flat-packed furniture company - but because tones vary so dramatically, it can be seen as too difficult to find suitable colour pairing.

I have noticed a new oak seems to be cleaner and blond so look to a colour that responds to this like a soft yellow undertone in the paint colour would work in a subtle restful fashion and look at an underlying green tone to this which will flatter the wood while delivering warmth to the space.

On the other hand, a vintage oak tends to be darker and has more variables of tone, and these would respond to richer tones, like a deep earthy pink or clay tones which of course would create a whole explosion of drama which of course is the route I would be more incline to go down.
